Conference and School 2017
The 2017 Annual Conference and School of the International Transportation Economics Association, ITEA, was held in Barcelona, Spain, June 19-23. The events were hosted by the Institut dEconomia de Barcelona (IEB) at the Faculty of Economics and Business of Universitat de Barcelona. The chair of the Local Organizing Committee was Professor Anna Matas.
The two and a half-day School was held on June 19-21, just before the Conference. The School were attended by 42 students from all over the world.
The Conference was held on June 21-23. There were 133 papers presented at the Conference. In addition, the Conference was proud to present keynote lecture by Professor Jacques Thisse on ”What Can TE Learn from Spatial Economics” and The International Transport Forum (ITF) plenary sessions on ”Air Connectivity” presented by Professor Anming Zhang and Dr. Guillaume Burghouwt, and on ”Agglomeration and Wider Economic Benefits” presented by Professor Tony Venables and Professor Daniel Graham.
The venue for the keynote lecture by Professor Jacques Thisse was provided by Abertis, the international market leader in the management of toll roads. The session was chaired by Professor Bruno de Borger, as Chair of the Conference Scientific Committee.
